Powerful Moments

Monday, August 25th, 2008

By: Tony Wood

All I can say this morning is “wow!” Just excited to serve an amazing God.

It’s just exciting times here at Crossroads and definitely for us at Generate. I’ve listed a few of the great things that have happened and are happening below and ask you pray that we’ll continue the movement God has blessed us with.

- We’ve seen over 100 people come to Christ this past month in Generate and over 200 at Crossroads’ Sunday services.

- Generate has averaged over 750 students in the dog days of August and I can only imagine what God has planned for fall as the colleges open. It’s exciting to think that our Crossroads next-gen ministries are now touching over 1000 people each week.

- We’re launching our “Killer Confessions” series September 17th along with our Resonate Jr. High Ministry and special HS breakout evening.

- Each of our Generate communities (i.e. Grace, Power, Intimacy, Passion, Strength, and Beauty) have averaged 22 people through the summer.

- We will be partnering with Mike Foster and Jud Wilhite for a night of Deadly Viper ministry at the Catalyst Conference in Atlanta this year.

- Crossroads Fav-Five Day is September 14th where we will see thousands of new faces.

Catalyst Ballers

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Brad over at Catalyst www.bradlomenick.com was kind enough to deliver their box of stuff (including the office hoop) and I’m happy to say that my office is now officially “Generate Ballers”. This afternoon Ronny got hammered by a few of the ladies and it’s fun to show you just how “hard we work” on our Generate game-days!

One Dinner With?

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Great post from Brad Lomenick www.bradlomenick.com that really forced me to analyze just how strategically I use my time, resources, and networks.

One Dinner with ?

One person. Throughout history. Besides Jesus. A Dinner. Who and where?

Mine: Abraham Lincoln in the White House.

How about you?

The POTSC

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

The past few days I’ve finally had the chance to spend some quality time with Mike Foster www.deadlyviper.org and must say that he’s quickly becoming one of my closest friends. Sure I love his sexy smile, killer glasses, and Volcom watch but even more I love his heart for inducing change into society and sharing Jesus with the world. If you want to hear more from Mike check out his blog on the Viper site or visit Catalyst this year where he’ll be presenting www.catalystpace.com

This fall at Generate we’ll be sharing some of the ways that we’ll be partnering with Mike and a few other churches/organizations around Southern California to reintroduce Jesus into the fabric of California. Start praying now for the Jesus Revolution and People of the Second Chance (POTSC).  In an age of politics and social reform there’s no question it’s necessary to keep the name of Jesus in front of our generation, as in that name, true change, hope, and second chances can be found.
