Embrace Uncertainty

One book that has floated around here a lot this past year is “In a Pit with Lion on a Snowy Day” by Mark Batterson. Ronny has taught on it, Chuck has shared from it and this past week I noticed a term in there that caught my attention.
Embracing Uncertainty.
The more I’ve analyzed this term, the more closely I’m holding it. In fact, yesterday as a team we began discussions on making it a 4th core value for Generate (along with Passionate World Change, No One Alone, No One Left Behind.)
Embracing Uncertainty.
Faith is action based on belief. Faith is what sent Moses walking towards Egypt, David towards Goliath, and Peter into Rome. Faith isn’t assured of anything except God’s plan and believes that the greatest risk is taking no risk at all.
I’ve realized that so much of my life wouldn’t have had room for miracles or new opportunities had I not had moments of uncertainty that required them. Without obstacle there’s no accomplishment, without pain no health, and without a bad day no realization of good.
Instead of stress, worry, or fear go ahead and embrace uncertainty today. I’m excited to share more tonight as we launch Journey of the Damned… see ya in a few hours.

I WANTED TO SAY SOMETHING TRULLY PROLIFIC ABOUT THIS BUT I WAS UNCERTAIN IF ANYONE WOULD CARE SO I DIDNT DO ANYTHING. JUST KIDDING.
LOOKING BACK OVER 40 YEARS, MY WORLD WOULD SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IF I DIDNT TAKE CHANCES AND EMBRACE UNCERTAINTY. PRAISE GOD FOR ALLOWING US TO LIVE IN A COUNTRY THAT WE CAN MAKE OUR OWN DECISIONS AND JUST GO FOR IT. BETTER TO TRY AND FAIL THAN WONDER IF IT COULD HAVE WORKED.
